Venture Adventures represents the coming together of the worlds of business law and graphic design.

 

Our Story

​

Jon is a consultant lawyer with 20 years’ international experience advising on intellectual property and commercial matters for global law firms and multinational companies, putting his first class physics degree and Masters qualification in the management of intellectual property to good use.   

​

Julie is a successful graphic and stationery designer, and founder of QuMoo Design, producing vibrant prints and cards, and elegant logo designs. One of her designs was recently used by Paperchase in its Christmas card range.

 

Moving back to the UK with our two young sons after 10 years living and working abroad, we both found ourselves looking to set up our own businesses  - a legal consultancy and a print and graphic design business.  

 

We found that many of the issues we faced appeared to be common to all small businesses starting out on their different journeys, whatever their direction - issues about data privacy, about what policies and agreements to put in place, about what tax to pay and how to pay it, about what insurance we should take out, and many others. 

 

We struggled to find in any one place all the information we needed, particularly practical guidance on what to do and where we could find relevant help and services.  

 

Our Vision

 

It didn’t take much of a leap to wonder, “Wouldn’t it be great to have a single ‘go-to’ source of information and guidance, connecting us with all the necessary advisers and service providers we need?"  Venture Adventures was born. 

 

As owners of small businesses ourselves, we appreciate the constraints on time and resources.  Our aim is simple: to provide or direct you to all the guidance and cost-effective services you need in a clear and accessible way to help you start and grow your business. A DIY incubator / accelerator that does not require you to give away part ownership of your new business.     

 

On the legal side, Jon enjoys working pragmatically and efficiently with clients of all sizes, providing commercially focused legal advice through a regulated law firm that has expertise across all areas of the law. He would be delighted to assist you himself on a range of intellectual property and commercial issues. For other specialist legal areas, he can put you in touch with one of his fabulous colleagues.  

 

For all non-legal requests for help, we will aim to connect you with appropriately qualified and regulated service providers who understand the needs and resource challenges of small businesses.
